# Execution and custody

Who holds the assets and carries out decisions.

The vault and strategy contracts hold the portfolio's assets. The manager monitors markets and submits permitted trades. Your wallet signs your own deposits and withdrawals.

Contract rules limit the manager's actions, but you still depend on its judgment and external data.

If the manager goes offline, automated management stops. Assets remain in the contracts, but trades and withdrawals can be delayed. USDG already reserved for a processed withdrawal can still be claimed by its receiver.
